The Ministry of Commerce partners with top Chinese companies aiming to accelerate exports of Thai products to China and connecting more Thai entrepreneurs to Chinese market after President of China, Mr. Xi Jinping has announced fostering more foreign goods import rates in the historical import expo. He assures that China will be a “Global Consumer”.
November 5, 2018 – The Ministry of Commerce collaborated with top Chinese companies in the 1st historic China International Import Expo (CIIE), joined by Deputy Prime Minister of Thailand, H.E. Mr. Somkid Jatusripitak, Minister of Commerce Mr. Sontirat Sontijirawong and high ranking officers from Thailand. Thailand Ministry of Commerce also held “Thailand-China Business Networking Lunch” at Shanghai Hongqiao Jinjiang Hotel chaired by Mr. Sontirat Sontijirawong, Minister of Commerce. The event is for strengthening Thai-Chinese leading entrepreneurs’ relationship enhancing the import of Thai products and brings more Thai entrepreneurs to China after Mr. Xi, President of China, has promised market opening for international products, reducing import taxes and issuing supported policies.
The representatives of leading Chinese companies who participated in the event are such as Alibaba, JD.com, Lianhua Supermarket and King Wai Group (KWG). King Wai Group is a Hong Kong-based, China’s reputable and most prolific conglomerates led by Mr. Henry Chan, Vice Chairman who said in the event “King Wai Group ready to be the bridge for Thai-China trade relation advancing Thai entrepreneurs to export products to China through a full-service IMX (International Merchandise Exchange) project, which includes commercial port service, cross-border online e-commerce platform; KJT.com. IMX has its exhibition space for 330,000 square meters and operates exhibition services for international entrepreneurs. The project was entitled as the first Chinese government-recognized exhibition center and cross-border online ecommerce. It has the complete nationwide warehousing network, facilities distribution, and the customs clearing service providing a comfortable import service to the international entrepreneurs.”
IMX located at Hongqiao district, nearby the National Exhibition and Convention Center (NECC) in Shanghai, and from November 5, 2018, onwards, it will exhibit imported products from around the world. And as Thai products is very popular among Chinese consumers, therefore IMX has to organize Thailand pavilion within its exhibition area. In the future, King Wai Group aims to coordinate with the Ministry of Commerce of Thailand attracting more Thai entrepreneurs to do the business in China.
