Mr Antonio Chan, vice chairman of King Wai Group signed a MOU with Mr Robert Owen, the Chairman of Repton School.

King Wai Group has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on education with a prominent international school – Repton International Schools Ltd, Derby, United Kingdom to establish an international school in Thailand in Ayutthaya, North of Bangkok under the brand name of ‘Repton’.

Repton School, founded in 1557, is a not-for-profit educational charity registered in the UK. Repton International Schools Ltd was established in 2006 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Repton School created to manage overseas schools carrying the Repton name and brand.  There are at present four such schools in the UAE, a Repton branded Kindergarten collaboration in Singapore and further schools being established in Egypt, China and Bulgaria. Repton International Schools Ltd and Repton School are committed to supporting the provision of high-quality education across the world, in collaboration with local investors and partners.

King Wai Property Group Company Limited, a member company of King Wai Group and Repton are contemplating the establishment of a K1-Year 13 day and boarding school at Ayutthaya, Thailand, where King Wai is developing a mega Education Township project to educate both Thai, Chinese and international pupils in the community.

The Group is reinforcing through this collaboration its mission to deliver long-term growth and to give back to society through philanthropic efforts. In 2017, Dr. Chan King Wai, Chairman of King Wai Group, cooperated with the Ministry of Education of Thailand and the Hong Kong Education Bureau and launched the Hong Kong Scholarship Program for “Belt and Road” Students (Thailand) for outstanding Thai students to enroll in undergraduate programmes at publicly funded educational institutions in Hong Kong.  In 2016, Dr. Chan King Wai established the “Bauhinia Valley Innovation and Development Center” in 12 leading universities in Mainland China to support and facilitate innovations and business ventures for small and medium sized enterprises as well as young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong.

King Wai Group has been in discussion with world class strategic partners to the two mega projects in Ayutthaya and Chacheongsao province, which requires collaboration from various sectors and organizations both at the domestic and international levels. The Group is developing the Ayutthaya project as a regional knowledge and innovation hub consisting of universities, K1 to Year 13 international school, commercial precincts, distribution centres, villas, wellness centres and retirement living. The Ayutthaya project, covers land area of 2,605 rai (420 hectares) and will benefit from improved connectivity after the completion of the Nakhon Ratchasima Intercity Motorway Project (M6). The AEC Project is strategically located on a 1,997 rai (320 hectares) of land in Chachoengsao Province, one of the three Eastern provinces in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and will provide tourism, medical and wellness facilities in the local community.
